The successful development of this division resulted in establishment of production and trading sister companies in Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and in the Ukraine. Thanks to their further development we have achieved not only a good position on the markets in the said countries but also a good starting position to enter adjacent territories.
Slovakia
Our first business activities in foreign countries were, naturally, focused on Slovakia. As early as before AGRO CS Slovakia a.s. was established (in 2000) the products with the AGRO CS logo had won an advantageous and stable position in the Slovakian market. AGRO CS Slovakia a.s. has been continuing the activities of AGROFLORA; it has taken over its sales network including some of its employees, built a production plant in Velké Dravce and has become a leading company in the Slovak market in this kind of business.
Hungary
AGRO CS HUNGARY Kft., as a daughter company of AGRO CS a.s., started to sell the products in Hungary in 2001 (established in December 2000), but the active business policy had been started two years before. Then, the name of the company was AGROFLORA Hungary. Today, AGRO CS HUNGARY is an important partner to the Garden Center network, to many retailers as well as to some international chains working in Hungary.
Poland
The first steps in the Polish territory date back to 1998 but only the year of 2000 can be considered as our first year of real business activities in Poland as that year our daughter company of AGRO CS Poland Sp. z.o. o. was established. After several-month necessary preparations, the daughter company was ready to accept and attend its first orders. At the present time, its main partners are various garden centres, plant nurseries as well as some supermarket networks.
The Ukraine
Long-term cooperation between our company and the Ukrainian company of BAT started in 2000 by establishing two joint ventures. One specializes in black peat mining while the other specializes in white peat mining and production of substrates for the Ukrainian market.
